The conference is supported by an exhibition of relevant products and services. Organisations supplying water, sanitation, hygiene and energy products and services or running relevant projects are therefore invited to showcase their activities and wares to delegates at the supporting expo.

The highlight of WASHen 2018 was the new Climate Change Conference that was held on the first day of the event. The conference came in as follow-up to the COP 23 that saw Zimbabwe ratifying the Paris Agreement. The event  emphasised the importance of dialogue and the need for action to mitigate climate change and its global challenges.

Our country is currently experiencing prolonged droughts, extended dry season’s extreme hot summers and cold winters.  The changing rainfall patterns represent an immediate danger to productivity and livelihoods. The conference helped create awareness around these issues concentrate by highlighting anthropogenic activities’ contribution to climate change whilst simultaneously showing our preparedness as a country in dealing with climate change and putting forward actionable resolutions for improved outcomes.

Media Validation Requirements

ZITF reserves the right to request the following validations before granting accreditation:

Recognised Media or Press Card issued by their employers,
Positive identification of journalistic employment e.g. letter of assignment on official letterhead from the Editor or Bureau Chief.
Freelance journalists may be requested to provide two by line editorial stories.
