ZITF targets more foreign exhibitors for next fair

THE Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) Company is targeting to attract at least 20 countries to participate at its 60th Edition set for April 23-17 next year.

The company is exhibiting at the on-going Intra African Trade Fair in Cairo, Egypt.

According to ZITF marketing and public relations manager, Ms Stella Nkomo, the company is participating at the exhibition to lure countries, companies and organisations to make the next edition their next stop in their quest to pursue investment and trading opportunities in Africa.

THE Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) Company says it is finalising tenders for the construction of its hotel and conference centre.

The project, which is valued at $11 million, is expected to provide an alternate revenue stream for the exhibition company.

With a capacity of 300 beds, the hotel is set to become the biggest in the city.

Government to use ZITF as re-engagement platform

THE Government has identified the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) as one of the main platforms to engage the international community as it forges ahead to attract foreign investors to participate in the revival of the country’s economy.

Officially launching the 2019 ZITF marketing campaign on Thursday in Harare, Industry and Commerce Minister Mangaliso Ndlovu said as the country works towards attaining an upper middle-income economic by 2030 it was of paramount importance to open up for business.

Need to open up Zimbabwe for Business: Industry Minister

There is need to implement significant reforms such as improving the ease of doing business, improving competitiveness, and opening the country to international investors and financiers, Honourable Nqobizitha M. Ndlovu, the Minister of Industry and Commerce has said.

He made the remarks at the Zimbabwe International Trade fair (ZITF) Marketing Campaign launch press briefing held in harare on 5 December 2018 at the Rainbow Towers Hotel.

ZITF begins 2019 preparations

ZIMBABWE International Trade Fair Company (ZITF) has begun preparation for the 2019 edition of the country’s premier business exhibition scheduled for 23-27th of April.

The 2019 edition of ZITF will be 60th consecutive edition and will be running under the theme “Propagating Industrial Growth through Trade and Investment”

Addressing the media at the ZITF 2019 marketing campaign launch, Minister of Industry and Commerce Nqobizitha Ndlovu said his ministry is pleased that preparations for the fair have begun and called on companies to take the opportunity through participation.

Mine-Entra over-subscribed

The 2018 Mining, Engineering and Transport (Mine-Entra) has increased space, opening a supplementary exhibition hall due to overwhelming demand from prospective participants eager to showcase and do business in the sector.

The expo, which is organised by the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) is in its 23rd year running and preparations has since sold out 6 385 square metres of the available exhibition space compared to last year’s total of 4,414 square metres.

ZITF Company board chairperson, Ruth Ncube said, “A total of 183 companies have so far booked exhibition space compared to a total of 153 direct exhibitors from last year,” she said.

Boom in Mine Entra bookings reflects growing business confidence

This year’s edition of the Mining, Engineering and Transport (Mine Entra) expo is already 93% booked, a sign of growing business confidence in the sector and strong international interest in doing business with Zimbabwe.

Mines and Mining Development minister Winston Chitando is expected to officially open the show, which will run from October 10 to 12 under the theme Mineral Beneficiation: Catalyst for Economic Growth.
