ZITF dates moved to August

THE Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) will be held from August 23-27 after it was postponed due to the prevailing Covid-19 pandemic which has seen an upsurge in cases being recorded in the country.

Cabinet postponed the ZITF which was supposed to be held from July 20 to 23 following an upsurge in Covid-19 cases.

The ZITF company had initially written a letter to the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Dr Sekai Nzenza proposing 21-24 September and September 28-October 1 as the new dates.

ZITF Company proposes September for trade showcase

THE Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) Company has proposed to hold this year’s trade showcase in September.

This comes after Cabinet postponed the ZITF which was supposed to be held from July 20 to 23 following an upsurge in Covid-19 cases.

Eleven countries had confirmed participation, namely Angola, Belarus, Botswana, Indonesia, Japan, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa and Tanzania.

In a letter addressed to the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Dr Sekai Nzenza the ZITF company has proposed September 21-24 and September 28 – 1 October as the new dates.

THE Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) Company has proposed to hold this year’s ZITF in September.

This comes after Cabinet postponed the ZITF which was supposed to be held from July 20 to 23 following an upsurge in Covid-19 cases.

In a statement addressed to the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Dr Sekai Nzenza the ZITF company has proposed 21-24 September and 28 September- 1 October as the new dates.

ZITF Company board chairman, Mr Busisa Moyo said this will allow exhibitors and potential visitors to reschedule their preparations with ample time and also allow the third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic to subside.

ZITF Says Bookings Hit 90% Mark

ZIMBABWE International Trade Fair (ZITF) has confirmed its bookings for this year’s edition have hit a 90% mark amid optimism the event will proceed safely and as planned despite the ongoing Covid-19 containment measures. The event will be held from 20 to 23 July at the ZITF Grounds in Bulawayo.

In an update on  Wednesday, ZITF chairperson, Busisa Moyo said the uptake of space had nearly reached full capacity.“Space bookings now at 90% to capacity with 405 direct exhibitors having thus far booked 44,878sqm out of the 49,547sqm which had been made available for sale,” he said.

ELEVEN countries have so far confirmed their participation at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) as more local and international exhibitors seek to ride on the showcase to expand businesses and trade.

Bulawayo will host the prime multi-sectoral trade exhibition under tight Covid-19 mitigation protocols next month (20 to 23 July) under the theme: “Showcasing the New Normal for Business & Industry: Realities and Opportunities.”

The theme acknowledges that ZITF 2021 is taking place against the backdrop of Covid-19 and, as such, calls for multi-stakeholder engagement in forging innovative sustainable business models, economic and trade re-engagement.

ZITF: Time for Bulawayo to shine again

THE Zimbabwe International Trade Fair, the country’s premier international trade and investment showcase, is back. The ZITF Company board chairman Mr Busisa Moyo said the annual trade expo which was cancelled last year following the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, will be held from 20 to 23 July under strict Covid-19 health protocols.

“The ZITF Company board and management wishes to advise all stakeholders that His Excellency President ED Mnangagwa, the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe has approved the hosting of the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair from 20th to 23rd July 2021,” said Mr Moyo.

ZITF embraces indigenous languages to foster inclusivity

THE Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) Company board chairman, Mr Busisa Moyo, says it is important to foster inclusivity in the messaging of updates leading to this year’s biggest annual trade expo, which is set for July.

This would be achieved through regular updates in local languages as part of efforts to ensure comprehensive buy in from all Zimbabweans.

Mr Moyo, who is also the chief executive officer of Bulawayo-headquartered United Refineries Limited, has already issued public updates in English, Ndebele, Shona and Kalanga, announcing new ZITF dates and encouraging all stakeholders to prepare for the event.

Hotels And Lodges Fully Booked Ahead Of ZITF

Hotels and lodges in Bulawayo are now fully booked ahead of this year’s edition of the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) scheduled to run from 20 to 23 July.

The exhibition was last held in 2019. ZITF was suspended in 2020 after the country imposed a lockdown following the outbreak of COVID-19 in March.

This year, the exhibition will run under the theme, “Showcasing the New Normal for Business and Industry: Realities and Opportunities.”

Byo SMEs geared up for ZITF showcase

THE Bulawayo Chamber of Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs) has embarked on capacity-building programmes with members in preparation for the forthcoming Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) scheduled for next month.

The country’s largest global exhibition returns this year after being suspended in 2020 due to Covid-19 lockdown. It will be held at the Zimbabwe International Exhibition Centre in Bulawayo between 20 and 23 July.

Bulawayo Chamber of SMEs co-ordinator, Mr Nketha Mangoye Dlamini, said they were engaging their SMEs clusters to take advantage of the ZITF window.

ZITF return to restore confidence, tourism recovery

The return of the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) this year is expected to restore tourism recovery and business confidence in Zimbabwe as an investment destination, while impacting positively on the wider economy.  

Industry and commerce players are already seized with preparations for this year’s ZITF, scheduled for July 20 to 23 in Bulawayo, amid prospects for renewed business after the event was suspended last year at the height of Covid-19 lockdown measures.
