VACANCY | Marketing Assistant

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the position which has arisen in the Marketing Department.

Job brief: the company is looking for an adaptable, ingenious and vibrant individual to join our prolific marketing team and help in the implementation of the marketing strategy by facilitating campaign drives and supporting the development and execution of the marketing plan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing implementation of Partnerships related to Marketing Department.
  • Liaising with companies and individuals providing marketing services to the company, such as advertising agencies, printers among others
  • Maintaining and updating all visitors’ databases.
  • Generating and sending letters, automatic responses, regular advertising messages and mass brochures for mailing to prospective buyers and visitors.
  • Assisting in the marketing and selling of ZITF organised events and publications.
  • Co-ordinating the visitor registration process (both online and on-site) and including facilitating the smooth flow of visitor entry during exhibitions and events
  • Coordinating accommodation for local and international exhibitors and business visitors during exhibitions.
  • Drives usage of Mobile Apps in liaison with the ICT Coordinator
  • Assisting the Marketing Manager in the preparation, updating and reconciliation of all departmental budgets.
  • Processing purchase orders and invoices for services rendered to the Marketing Department and approved by the Marketing Manager.
  • Coordinating travel logistics for Marketing Manager.
  • Providing administrative support to the Marketing Manager
  • Preparing SWOT analysis to support management’s marketing and promotional decisions by investigating options and making appropriate recommendations.
  • Assisting the Marketing Manager in the writing and editing of all Marketing collateral.
  • Distributing all promotional material to various stakeholders such as Embassies, Government Departments, Industry and Trade Associations.

Overseeing placement and monitoring of adverts as per approved media plan.

 Qualifications

  • A relevant Degree or Diploma in Marketing.
  • At least two years working experience.

  • Analytical thinking, flexibility, and good problem-solving skills.
  • Familiar with Internet applications.

  • Good organising skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Mobile Apps.
  • Prepared to occasionally work long and odd hours.
  • Attention to detail.

ZITF Company appoints new CEO, deputy

THE Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) Company has appointed Dr Nicholas Ndebele as the substantive chief executive officer and Ms Stella Nkomo as his deputy.

The appointments are with immediate effect.

In a statement, the ZITF Company said: “The ZITF Company board of directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Nicholas Ndebele as the substantive chief executive officer with immediate effect.

“Dr Ndebele will be supported in his new role by Ms Stella Nkomo who has been appointed deputy chief executive officer, also with immediate effect.”

Dr Ndebele joined the organisation in 2017 as the sales executive tasked with increasing gains in profit performance, revenue growth and market share across all the firm’s strategic business units.

He was appointed acting general manager in the following year after the resignation of the previous general manager.

“More recently, he has demonstrated capacity and leadership depth taking the company to profitability and guiding the company through one of the most tumultuous periods of its history; ensuring business survival and sustainable continuity despite the disruption on the business brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic and the attendant knock-on effects,” said the ZITF Company.

Dr Ndebele holds a Doctor of Philosophy Degree majoring in Business Leadership from the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS) of the University of Pretoria.

He is also a holder of an Executive Development Programme (GIBS), a Master of Science in Marketing from the National University of Science and Technology (Nust), Masters of Business Administration from Midlands State University, Post Graduate Diploma in Public Relations from Nust and a Bachelor of Business Studies from the University of Zimbabwe (UZ).

The ZITF Company said Ms Nkomo has been with the company for over 14 years driving the marketing, communications and business development functions of the entity and will continue to manage that portfolio as well in addition to her new duties.

“As an accomplished events manager and co-ordinator specialising in exhibitions, conferences and events infrastructure management, she has been instrumental in making sure that the ZITF Company’s exhibitions and events remain the biggest and effective platforms for business growth in the country,” it said.

Ms Nkomo is a holder of a Business Leadership Certificate, ZimChartered Marketer,

Master of Science in Marketing, Bachelor of Science in Journalism and Media Studies from Nust, Marketing Practitioner (Marketers Association Zimbabwe) and is currently studying towards a Master of Science degree in International Relations with UZ.

“Given their combined arsenal of qualifications, knowledge and expertise in the business development and marketing fields, Dr Ndebele and Ms Nkomo are more than equal to the task.

“The board wishes them well in the new roles. The board is fully persuaded that these two appointments supported by a loyal senior management team will be able to deliver the pending transformational strategy to reposition the ZITF Company for the future,” said the organisation. — @okazunga

ZITF dates moved to August

THE Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) will be held from August 23-27 after it was postponed due to the prevailing Covid-19 pandemic which has seen an upsurge in cases being recorded in the country.

Cabinet postponed the ZITF which was supposed to be held from July 20 to 23 following an upsurge in Covid-19 cases.

The ZITF company had initially written a letter to the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Dr Sekai Nzenza proposing 21-24 September and September 28-October 1 as the new dates.

ZITF Company proposes September for trade showcase

THE Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) Company has proposed to hold this year’s trade showcase in September.

This comes after Cabinet postponed the ZITF which was supposed to be held from July 20 to 23 following an upsurge in Covid-19 cases.

Eleven countries had confirmed participation, namely Angola, Belarus, Botswana, Indonesia, Japan, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa and Tanzania.

In a letter addressed to the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Dr Sekai Nzenza the ZITF company has proposed September 21-24 and September 28 – 1 October as the new dates.

LATEST: New dates proposed for ZITF

THE Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) Company has proposed to hold this year’s ZITF in September.

This comes after Cabinet postponed the ZITF which was supposed to be held from July 20 to 23 following an upsurge in Covid-19 cases.

In a statement addressed to the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Dr Sekai Nzenza the ZITF company has proposed 21-24 September and 28 September- 1 October as the new dates.

ZITF Company board chairman, Mr Busisa Moyo said this will allow exhibitors and potential visitors to reschedule their preparations with ample time and also allow the third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic to subside.
