Charity Golf Challenge

Introduced in 2015 as part of the Mine Entra @ 20 celebratory activities, the Mine Entra Charity Golf Challenge was such a hit among participants that the organisers decided to make it an annual event.

This year’s tourney will be held on the 21st of July at the Bulawayo Golf Club.  The charity event is aimed at offering an additional networking platform to participants, at the same time fulfilling the company’s corporate social responsibility goal to ensure that each ZITF-organised event gives back to the community.

Last year’s net proceeds were donated to a patient at NSSA Workers Compensation Rehabilitation Centre who had been rendered a quadriplegic when a mine shaft collapsed at his place of work in Mvurwi. The 30 year old, married father of two was grateful or the donation as it would assist his wife to start a small farming project so as to be able to take care of the family.

Player registration is currently in progress at a fee of $40 per player which includes green fees, halfway lunch and attendance at the cocktail event to be held on the same day. A field of about 60 players is expected, including executives from local mining houses, financial institutions, suppliers of mining and engineering equipment.

The play format will be 4BBB Stableford, own pairs drawn into foursomes. Interested golfers are invited to register their teams in support of a worthy cause.

Corporate sponsors and mining houses are also being invited to partner with Mine Entra in support of this cause, which is particularly relevant to their industry.
