The Ministry of Industry and Commerce in partnership with the ZITF Company are organising the inaugural Zimbabwe Industrialisation Conference and Exhibition to be held on 23 November 2017 at the Harare International Conference Centre. The conference is set to provide a platform for engagement, between industry players and the highest echelons of government, as the nation works towards its agenda of pursuing industrialisation as the key to economic growth and development. The event will be also be part of the commemorations of the Africa Industrialisation Day (20 November) with the aim of popularising industrialisation and keep the momentum of the SADC Industrialisation Strategy and Roadmap (2015-2063) going in the region.
The conference will bring together local and international industrialists, indigenous entrepreneurs, academics, business leaders together with high-level policy makers, all with a keen interest in industrialisation.
Stakeholders will have an opportunity to deliberate on the best practices needed to further industrialise the economy. Some of the issues tabled for discussion include:
- Strategies for and challenges of financing industrialisation
- Beneficiation and value-chain
- Local content policy
- Role of SMEs in industrialisation, amongst other crucial topics.
Highlights of this conference also include a “Made in Zimbabwe Exhibition,” an opportunity for local manufacturers to showcase their products to a targeted audience. Additionally, a wide array of sponsorship and advertising opportunities exist for like-minded organisations to increase their visibility at Industrialisation Conference.
The registration fee (covering teas, lunch and conference materials) is $100 per delegate whilst exhibition stands will also cost $300 per 9m2
